This outstanding gelding is a four-year-old Belgian/Morgan cross, standing right around 16 hands. With a bold blaze, pretty coloring, and good conformation, he gets noticed everywhere he goes. Wayne rides English, Western, lays down on command, and drives! He’s as handy as they come and doesn’t mind a full day of work — in fact, he thrives on it. He’s had enough miles under his belt to be reliable and sensible, with a solid brain and sturdy build that’s made to last.
Wayne has been well educated and has quite a few buttons! He spins, side passes, leg yields, and turns on the haunches. He’s adjustable with just a light feel through your hand and leg. He’s a smart, willing ride and such a fun one to bring along — making him enjoyable for riders with some experience. ⭐️
In the arena, he’s probably not the right match for a total beginner just yet, simply because he’s still learning himself. He always tries his heart out. With a confident rider or someone working alongside a trainer, he really shines and keeps getting better every ride. He’s the kind who listens, learns fast, and wants to get it right.
We could see him being a great fit for a confident AA or JR in a program, or a professional who wants a smart, capable young horse to shape into something special. He’s sensible and steady, just not a total deadhead — a young horse with a good brain and a bright future. 🤩
This pretty gelding neck reins as well as direct reins, he’s learning to go on the bit, and he already moves off the leg extremely well. He’s the kind you can put plenty of leg on without him launching into space or trying to be a racehorse. He reads his rider’s body language impressively for his age and is responsive to your seat, posting rhythm, a half halt, or even a little wiggle of the rein to bend. Sometimes he needs to be reminded to slow down his brain, simply because he’s so eager to please. He’s the type who thrives when he’s given a job and kept thinking — he loves to work and be part of the action.
Wayne is the kind that could go in so many directions — ranch work, trails, fox hunting, hunter paces, or even dressage. He’s loaded with talent and heart, and we can’t wait to see where he goes next.
Over fences, Wayne’s been started slowly and correctly, with exposure to a variety of environments. He’s the same horse off property as he is at home. He’s been out on hunter paces and cross-country schooling, and he blew us away with his natural talent. He’s honest, athletic, and always game — with cute form and ears pricked the whole time. He’s jumped all kinds of obstacles: poles, cross rails, oxers, logs, coops, and boxes, and he’s just getting started on combinations. Every time out, he shows more confidence and capability.
On the trail, Wayne is steady and surefooted. He’s happy to lead or follow, walks on a loose rein, and doesn’t get hot or spooky. He’ll go through mud, water, bridges, or traffic without fuss — he’s even been to town and through the drive-thru! Under harness, he’s just as reliable, driving single and responding nicely to voice cues.☺️
In the barn, Wayne’s a gentleman through and through. No vices, easy to handle, loves attention, and stands like a statue for grooming, tacking, bathing, vet, and farrier. He loads and trailers like a pro and settles anywhere you take him.
