“Lainey” is a beautiful 5yr old 15.1h dappled palomino overo (sabino) mare with full APHA papers!
Lainey is by the NRCHA money earning stallion Ima Pale Face Cash who is by the one and only 5 million dollar sire Pale Face Dunnit!
Lainey is out of the APHA open point earning mare Dar FrecklesLaceyLynx who is by NRHA money earning stallion Doc Freckles!
This young mare was no accident! She was bred and raised the right way!
DISPOSITION: Lainey is a very loving, very kind, in your pocket kind of mare. She loves people and will stand for hours just to be brushed and loved on! This girl has a very “old soul” way about her and she’s one of the very few that have that “children’s horse” potential! She is currently being ridden by a youth and she has been ridden by smaller, less experienced children. She was absolutely flawless! Lainey is a little more whoa than go but very respectful and responsive to her riders cues.
WESTERN EXPERIENCE: Lainey was started the right way! She has the handle of a Reiner without the speed. She knows all the leg, hand and seat cues but she is not overly sensitive to anything. She moves very well off of your leg with or without spurs. Lainey has all the training to walk right into a ranch riding or ranch trail class and be very competitive.
You couldn’t ask for a better trail horse either! She will ride anywhere in the pack. She doesn’t get upset or excited even when the other horses leave her behind or run up behind her. Something that is very hard to come by. With her comfy jog and her very comfy short lope you will love taking this young lady out on those long trail rides! She’s not spooky or reactive to things you see on the trails or in the woods. Not bothered by traffic or wildlife either. Not even my rowdy dogs or terrorizing goat bother this sweet girl!
ENGLISH EXPERIENCE: Lainey has such a cute little English trot and canter. She’s got a nice floaty way of going and she will pop right over the little jumps!
UPKEEP: Lainey is currently eating a scoop of basic pellets twice a day and free choice alfalfa hay. No supplements or maintenance required to keep her sound.
UTD on everything and wearing front shoes as a personal preference. We do have her in an aluminum wedges to enhance her beautiful flat kneed movement. Lainey has previously been barefoot without any issues at all.
TURNOUT: Lainey is extremely laid back and easy going in the pasture. She can go out alone or in a group. You can turn her out with anything from the ponies to the drafts.
GROUND MANNERS: Lainey has great ground manners. Respectful of your space and easily lead by adults or children. She’s great to saddle and bridle. Stands tied and crosstied. Loves bath time and grooming time.
BAD HABITS/ VICES: Lainey has no bad habits or vices. No buck, rear, bolt, bite or kick.
TACK: Lainey rides bareback, English or western. She will ride in anything from a halter and lead rope to a snaffle or twisted wire snaffle. She’s not a picky girl!
