7-Year-Old APHA Buckskin Tobiano Gelding • 14.2 HH • Flashy Ranch & Trail Horse
* Handsome 2019 APHA registered Gelding “OUTLAWGYPSYSMKYNDBDT” aka Smokey. Amazing temperament and sweet demeanor. Smokey has real-world experience and confidence outside the arena. Brave, curious, and well-behaved off-property.
* Smokey has exceptional ground manners. Ties, loads, hauls amazingly, stands for farrier perfectly, easy to catch, and loves attention. He is always looking to please his rider any way he can - Kind, Tolerant, and Safe. He is suitable for kids, adults, and beginners, while still being talented and responsive enough to satisfy an experienced rider’s needs.
* Smokey has a slow, relaxed walk, a ground-covering trot, an effortless walk-to-canter departure, and a comfortable, floating lope. He’ll step up when asked, but is just as happy to relax and enjoy a quiet trail ride. Smokey makes an excellent ranch horse, as he is comfortable and confident around cattle and other livestock, machinery, dogs, opening and closing gates, and all the sights and sounds of everyday ranch life. He would make an amazing ranch versatility mount for someone looking to compete or a great all-around horse for a junior or amateur rider. Smokey rides well in both a bosal or a bit for any level of rider. He showcases a solid foundation and is responsive to light pressure, allowing the rider to gain softness and suppleness with ease.
* Excellent in high-stress, high-activity environments! Participated in 4th of July parades, surrounded by crowds, revving cars, four-wheelers, motorcycles, and fireworks. Confidence over obstacles, water, and trail riding alone or with a group in various locations and terrain.
* If you are looking for a safe, independent family horse, a dependable trail partner, or a new ranch versatility or all-around partner, Smokey is the guy for you! He is gentle and easy to get along with; he has no desire to buck, bolt, rear, or bite.
* Up-to-date on all vet, farrier, and dental care. We have owned Smokey since he was a long yearling, and he has had absolutely no health or lameness issues over the years. Clean legs. Shod all-around. Lives on a 10+ acre pasture with a group of others, but is also happy in a stall. Not herd-bound and is well-traveled. No vices and is an easy keeper.
