This girl is the best of both worlds! She’s got the top of the line pedigree, phenomenal flat movement all packed into the best easy on, easy off size you could ask for!
DISPOSITION: Darling is a very sweet mare that’s very easy to get along with. She is easy to catch and very easy to handle. She will stand all day for washing and grooming and loves cookies! She’s a very “old soul” type of girl that we love!! Darling is very suitable for all ages and all sizes. I wouldn’t hesitate to say she would be a great fit for a family, a lesson program or even a first horse. She’s very forgiving with a more push style type of ride.
WESTERN EXPERIENCE: Darling was started as a ranch rider. She’s got all the buttons and knows what to do when she’s asked. She moves very well off of your seat and she’s is responsive to your leg without being overly sensitive or responsive making her suitable for the less experienced riders as well. Darlings main job so far has actually been trail riding. She will go over, under and through anything you point her nose at. She doesn’t mind water, ditches, logs, wildlife, traffic… you name it.. she’s very go with the flow and even tempered. Rides quietly with a level headset and a loose rein. She’s a kick back and enjoy the ride kind of girl for sure!
ENGLISH EXPERIENCE: Darling is just starting her English career and seems to really enjoy it. She’s got the most perfect little trot that’s very easy to post to and she’s taking right to the jumping. Darling has a bright future in the hunter ring if you decide to go that route with her! With her floaty trot and flat canter.. she will be one to watch for in the flat classes for sure!
UPKEEP: Darling is a very easy keeper. She eats free choice alfalfa with just 1/2 scoop of a basic pellet. No supplements or maintenance required to keep this girl sound! She is UTD on everything and wearing just a basic front shoe as a personal preference.
TURNOUT: Darling is currently stalled part of the day and turned out with a mixed herd for the other part of the day. She’s very quiet and minds her business.
GROUND MANNERS: Darling has great ground manners. She can be lead around by even the little kiddos. She’s very respectful of your personal space. Stands great for washing, grooming, saddling, bridling and mounting! She also stands single tied and cross-tied.
BAD HABITS/VICES: Darling has no real bad habits or vices. She will occasionally make a mean face but she’s never made any mean moves. No bite, kick, buck, rear or bolt.
TACK: Darling rides English, western or bareback. She will ride in a halter and lead rope, a plain snaffle or even just a short shank snaffle.
