Timon is a 10-year-old gelding standing 15 hands and built as heavy-duty as they come. He is shapey and soggy in every way, equipped with big bone and a big, round foot. Timon is a do-it-all kind of guy — he’s a fully finished barrel horse, breakaway horse, and head horse. He is by PG Dry Fire, making him Riata Buckle eligible!
Timon is easy, easy to rope on. He runs flat and stays out of your way. He’s got plenty of speed but reads the cow and rates off naturally. He’s strong to the horn and has a snappy finish.
Timon has spent the past several years of his life as a rope horse, but when it’s time to crack the barrels out, he never skips a beat. Just like the roping, he is very simple to run barrels on. He runs hard to a barrel, hunts it, and turns like one should. He never gets pushy and is as quiet and polite in the gate as you’ll find. Truly just point and go! If you’re after a junior rodeo horse that can go be competitive in more than one event, he’s the one.
Timon isn’t just an arena horse — he has spent just as much time outside on the ranch. He’s branded thousands of calves, doctored yearlings, gathered and sorted pairs, and everything in between. He’s gone all day long in big country and has the best work ethic, making him the definition of a real ranch horse.
And I think our favorite part about Timon is the fact that you can put anyone and everyone on him and know he’s going to be safe. He’s the kind you can give three months off, saddle up, and lope right out of his tracks. If you’re looking for a trail horse to enjoy a quiet ride on a couple times a month, he’s the pick. He’s been there and seen just about everything there is to see.
Timon comes with zero ifs, ands, or buts. He’s sound and has never required any maintenance. He’s great to shoe, haul, gets along with other horses, and is just easy! He’s got the kindest personality, and we’re extremely proud to offer this one to the public.
