He’s the kind you can saddle up and enjoy without a bunch of drama, but still young enough to keep shaping into anything you want him to be. He’s spent most of his time being used around the ranch to gather cattle and check pastures, and he’s taken to every job with a calm, willing attitude. He’s surefooted and confident outside — crosses water, handles brush, and makes his way through rough country without a fuss. Coaltrain’s been around dogs, tractors, traffic, and all the usual ranch commotion, and he takes it all in stride. He’s also been getting some time in the arena and learning new things every week. He’s got good basics — moves off your leg, follows his face, and stays soft in the bridle. He’s the kind that learns quick, tries hard, and doesn’t get worked up when you show him something new. Está bien formado, es de carácter tranquilo y fácil de tratar. Es el tipo de caballo con el que puedes montar sin dramas y disfrutar, pero aún lo suficientemente joven para seguir moldeándolo en lo que desees. Ha pasado la mayor parte del tiempo trabajando en el rancho, recogiendo ganado y revisando los pastos, y afronta cada tarea con una actitud calmada y dispuesta. Tiene buen aplomo y confianza en terrenos difíciles: cruza agua, atraviesa matorrales y se desplaza por terrenos ásperos sin problema. Coaltrain ha estado en contacto con perros, tractores, tráfico y toda la rutina del rancho, y lo toma con calma. También ha estado entrenando en la pista y aprendiendo cosas nuevas cada semana. Tiene una buena base: responde a la presión de las piernas, sigue la dirección de la cabeza y mantiene la boca suave.
