Joe The Whoa, affectionately known as Joe, is a handsome chestnut gelding with the kind of presence that immediately catches your eye. His rich chestnut coat shines like a new penny, accented perfectly by his dark mane and tail and bold white blaze. Joe is strong and substantial with plenty of bone, a powerful hip, balanced build, and the kind of correct conformation you want underneath a performance horse. He is classy, athletic, and looks every bit the part of the pedigree he carries.
When it comes to pedigree, Joe is bred in the purple. He is sired by the $4 Million Dollar Sire Lil Joe Cash, who earned an impressive $279,268 during his own performance career. On the bottom side is one of the industry's true blue-hen mares, Whiz Jewels. She has an incredible $95,891.34 in lifetime earnings, but her record as a producer is where she has truly left her mark. Whiz Jewels has amassed $586,019.75 in progeny earnings to date, with several of Joe's full siblings becoming major money earners themselves. There is proven talent stacked on both sides of this pedigree, making Joe's family tree one that is hard to duplicate.
Joe certainly hasn't let his family do all the talking. Joe The Whoa is an NRHA money earner himself with $2,172.38 in lifetime earnings and has experience showing across a wide variety of divisions, including Levels 1, 2, 3 & 4 Open, Novice Horse Non Pro, and Rookie classes. He is user-friendly and has the ability and foundation to head right back to the show pen and continue adding to his resume. Whether you're looking for a horse to enjoy yourself or one that would be an asset to a performance program, Joe brings a lot to the table. With a name like Joe The Whoa, you would expect him to know how to stop—and he certainly does. Joe has a huge stop, strong and pretty circles, an easy lead change, and stylish spins. He has a cool way of going through all of his maneuvers and seems to have inherited some of the strongest qualities from both sides of his pedigree. He's a solid competitor who knows his job without being complicated to ride.
Joe has also seen plenty of country outside the show pen. He has extensive experience hauling to new places and settles in well wherever you take him. He is traffic safe, crosses bridges, handles obstacles, and has started working through ranch trail elements. He will back through poles, trot over poles, sidepass over them—and he'll even check the mailbox for you! Joe is a phenomenal mover with a gorgeous extended trot and a beautiful lope, transitioning smoothly between his gaits. When it's time to leave the arena behind, Joe is every bit as enjoyable. He will cruise down the trails at whatever pace you desire, confidently crossing bridges, traveling through water of all depths, and navigating tougher terrain with ease. He is the kind you can enjoy putting through his maneuvers one day and take out for a relaxing trail ride the next.
