Buckwheat is as good to ride as he is unique and beautiful! This twelve year old gelding is triple registered and broke for anyone. Standing at a very stout 14.3 he is built for the long haul with good feet and lots of bone to go with it! Buckwheat has been shown ARHA and has an incredibly smooth trot and lope that i can comfortably sit all day long, and we have! Buckwheat has been trail ridden all over and is quiet and familiar with all types of distractions and terrain. Cars, mailboxes, flags, cattle, and water do not bother him. He has a gentle and responsive on hand neck rein and keeps his chin soft and his neck level while being guided with the rein. He moves off of leg pressure quietly as as well. He stands well to be saddles and is very easy to catch in the pasture! We have roped a couple of cows on him loose in the arena and he tracks them very well and will rate them pretty good, although I would not call him a rope horse. Buckwheat has also been used to drive cattle back to the roping chute during practice down the return alley and makes it easy to open and close gates on. I have also cracked my bullwhip on him multiple times and he has also been exposed to gunfire. He sells %100 sound, he has been vet checked and also has a current coggins test.
