Ihr Vater ist ein eingetragener Fjord, ihre Mutter ein Percheron-Mix. Wir haben Bets direkt beim Züchter gekauft, sodass keine Unbekannten in ihrer Herkunft sind. Sie erhalten ihre vollständige Geschichte. Bets ähnelt stark dem Fjord und ist ein gutes Beispiel für die Rasse. Sie ist äußerst intelligent und lernt schnell – man muss es ihr nicht zweimal zeigen. Aufgrund ihres draftigen Aufbaus kann sie problemlos einen schwereren Reiter tragen, ist aber kein typischer Kaltblüter. Sie ist agil und bewegt sich wie ein Quarter Horse. Wenn man auf ihr sitzt, fühlt es sich an, als reite man einen kräftigen, kompakten Quarter Horse. Sie ist eine TRAIL-Maschine! Sie geht überall hin, wohin ich sie führe. Sie hat keinerlei Angst vor Wasser – im Video sieht man, wie sie in den Fluss geht. Was nicht gezeigt wird: Beim ersten Mal, als ich sie ins Wasser führte, war sie bereit, quer durchzuschwimmen. Da es Winter ist, habe ich das natürlich nicht gemacht. Sie überquert auch große Baumstämme und kleine Holzbrücken. Sie springt problemlos steile Ufer hoch und sucht sich vorsichtig den Weg den Hang hinunter. Sie ist eine echte Kraftmaschine, sodass große Hügel sie nicht einschüchtern. Sie hat einen sehr angenehmen, gleichmäßigen Galopp und einen ruhigen Trab. Ihr kleiner Jog-Trott ist leicht zu sitzen, und sie kann auch einen mittleren Trab laufen, den man gut aufstellen kann. Sie verlässt das Gelände allein ohne Probleme. Sie kann vorneweg reiten oder folgen, bleibt aber auch mal allein zurück. Wenn die andere Stute losläuft, bleibt sie ruhig stehen. Sie steht beim Aufsteigen ruhig, lädt problemlos in den Anhänger ein und kann auch wieder gut ausladen. Sie ist gut getrimmt und lässt sich leicht beschlagen. Sie ist mittleres Rangordnungsmitglied und ein unkomplizierter Charakter. Sie kommt gut mit den anderen Pferden aus. Sie beherrscht Schulter- und Hinterhandwendung auf Kommando und kann auch die Zügel direkt oder mit Halsring führen. Sie ist verkehrssicher, egal ob von vorne oder hinten herannahend. Wir sind schon mehrfach mit Schneepflugfahrzeugen auf der Straße begegnet, und sie hat keinen Moment gezuckt. Sie ist sehr zuverlässig, leicht zu händeln und nicht schreckhaft. Keine schlechten Gewohnheiten oder Macken, kein Pflegeaufwand. Wir haben Bets direkt beim Züchter gekauft und konnten ihre Eltern sehen. Seitdem wir sie haben, haben wir sie richtig aufgebaut und ihr die richtige Grundausbildung vermittelt. Sie hat ein freundliches Wesen und erobert mit ihren großen, sanften Schimmereien sofort dein Herz. Abschließend kann ich sagen: Beim ersten Reiten wirst du Bets lieben. Sie hat die richtige Einstellung, den passenden Körperbau und sehr schöne, geschmeidige Gänge. Sie ist aktuell geimpft, entwurmt, hat einen Coggins-Test und wurde tierärztlich untersucht. Her dad is a registered Fjord, and her mom was a Percheron cross. And we purchased Bets straight from the breeder, so there are no unknowns with her. You get her full history. Bets really takes after the Fjord side and is a good example of the breed. She is VERY smart and she catches on to new things quick you don’t have to show her twice. She has a drafty build so can easily carry a heavier rider, however she is not your typical draft she is agile and can move around like a quarter horse. So when you are on her it feels like you’re riding a nice stout quarter horse. She is a trail MACHINE! She will go ANYWHERE I point her. She has NO fear of water whatsoever. In the video, you’ll see her go into the river. What you don’t know is that the first time I took her in the river, she was ready to swim across it. But since it’s winter, I didn’t want to go for a swim. She’ll also cross huge logs and little wooden bridges. She’ll hop right up the steep banks and pick her way down a steep hill carefully. She is a regular powerhouse so those big hills do not intimidate her. She has a very nice smooth canter and a smooth trot. She has this little jog trot she’ll do that is easy to sit to. And she can do a more medium paced trot that is easy to post to. She will leave home alone just fine. She can lead or follow out on the trail and will separate away from the other horse. She is fine if the other horse takes off without her. She stands stock still for mounting, she loads right in and backs right out of a trailer, and good for getting her feet trimmed. She is middle of the pecking order. And an easy keeper. Gets along well with the other horses. She knows how to move her shoulders and hindquarters off the leg. And she also will neck or direct rein. She’s good with traffic coming from in front or behind her. We have even met up with the snow plow trucks a few times out on the road and she never blinks an eye at it. She is very safe does NOT spooky easily. NO bad habits or vices and NO maintenance required. Again we purchased Bets straight from the breeder was able to see both her parents and since we bought her we were able to start her the right way with the right foundation under her. She has a sweet personality and worms her way into your heart especially with those big soft doe eyes. I’ll end with this the first time you ride Bets you’ll love her you just can’t go wrong with her. She just has the right mindset, the right build, and very nice smooth gaits. Jednak zimą nie chciałem jej zbyt długo moczyć. Przecina też duże kłody i małe drewniane mostki. Skacze na strome brzegi i ostrożnie schodzi ze stromych zboczy. To prawdziwa siła – duże wzniesienia nie stanowią dla niej problemu. Ma bardzo płynny galop i wygodny stęp. Potrafi też zrobić lekkie, szybkie kłusiki, które łatwo się siedzi. Może też wykonywać spokojny, średni tempo kłus, idealny do postowania. Samodzielnie radzi sobie na szlaku – potrafi i iść na czele, i podążać za innym koniem, a także odłączyć się od stada. Nie ma problemu, gdy drugi koń odjeżdża bez niej. Stoi nieruchomo podczas wsiadania, łatwo wsiada do przyczepy i wyjeżdża z niej, a także jest spokojna podczas przycinania kopyt. Jest w środku stada i łatwo się z innymi końmi dogaduje. Potrafi poruszać się na odciążeniu przednich i tylnych kończyn, a także używać odrębnego kierowania głową i szyją. Jest dobrze przygotowana na ruch z przodu i z tyłu, świetnie radzi sobie z ruchem drogowym. Wielokrotnie spotykaliśmy się z pługami śnieżnymi na drodze i nigdy się nie przestraszyła.
