Sam is a beautiful 11-year-old sorrel crossbred. Along with his cuteness, he is the perfect height standing at 14.2 hands tall and shape you could want.
Sam is the family-safe trail horse everyone is looking for. If you can sit in the saddle and hold the reins you can ride Sam.
He is a point and go type of horse. He has been hauled and trail ridden extensively through many different types of terrain. He is sure footed and honest. Sam is not spooky and will cross creeks, go through any body type of water, thick brush, logs, bridges, rough terrain, up and down cliffs with ease. He has been ridden on the road and is used to all kinds of traffic, heavy machinery and ATV’s. He is also dog safe. You can ride Sam out alone with ease or with other horses. He will make a great horse for any level of rider. He will pack all the kids around at one time if needed.
He's also broke to a cart and will pull farm machinery. You can hook him up single or double and he will do a day's work with no problems.
Sam is great with time off or ride him every day, he will be the same horse. You can even ride him bareback if you choose! He will stand still for you to get on him from the ground or a mounting block.
Sam doesn’t care if he’s living outside in the pasture or in a stall, he is happy either way. He has a super sweet personality and loves attention. However, he is very respectful of your personal space. Sam will stand quietly all day long. He stands to be groomed, fly spray, stands still to be saddled, takes the bridle with ease, loves to be bathed, loads like a dream, clips great, and stands patiently for the farrier. Sam will walk all day if asked. He has a nice trot to him and transitions to a nice smooth short lope. He neck reins with ease, responsive to leg cues, backs and has a big stop when asked.
With good bone and feet, Sam would be a great family horse for many years to come.
