Smokey ist ein kräftig gebauter Kaltblut-Mischling-Wallach mit einer Größe von etwa 15,2 hh, er wiegt ca. 565 kg, ist 9 Jahre alt und trägt eine wunderschöne, dappled graue Fellfarbe mit silbernem Mähne und Schweif! Er sieht einfach super aus! Doch nicht nur sein Aussehen ist beeindruckend, er erfüllt auch alle anderen Kriterien… Er ist ein echtes Persönlichkeitspaket, äußerst freundlich, liebt Aufmerksamkeit und ist sehr ruhig im Gemüt. Smokey stammt aus demselben Zuchtprogramm wie mehrere andere Top-Kaltblut-Mischlings-Wallache, die wir in den letzten vier Jahren verkauft haben, und alle besitzen den richtigen Geist sowie die ruhige Natur, die sie zu großartigen Familienpferden machen. Smokey ist seit letztem Jahr in unserem Programm, hat die natürliche Horsemanship-Ausbildung absolviert, arbeitet frei und kennt einige Tricks: Er verbeugt sich, legt sich hin und setzt sich auf den Hinterteil. Er ist hervorragend im Gelände unterwegs, überquert Bäche, Gräben, logische Hindernisse und meistert unebenes, felsiges Terrain. Er hat einen sanften Trab, einen sehr angenehmen, lockeren Löffelgang, einen guten Stop, macht enge Kreise in beide Richtungen und rückwärtsgehen ist kein Problem! Er wurde mit verschiedenster Wildtiere wie Hirschen, Truthähnen, Kühen oder Hunden vertraut und folgt jeder Anweisung. Er ist viele Meilen in den Bergen im Osten von Kentucky geritten worden und hat alle möglichen Hindernisse auf dem Trail gemeistert. Er geht steile Anstiege und Abfahrten hoch, überquert tiefe Bäche, überwältigt umgestürzte Bäume und bewältigt verschiedenstes unebenes Gelände – stets sicher auf den Beinen. Smokey ist nicht cinch-empfindlich, wird nicht kalt am Rücken, knabbert nicht am Zaumzeug und schiebt sich nicht hin und her. Neben dem Reiten wurde er auch schon in der Straßenfahrt eingesetzt. Smokey is a stout built draftcross gelding standing around 15.2hh, he will weigh 1250lbs, he is 9 years old, and he is that super pretty dapple grey coloring with a silver mane and tail! He is one cool looking guy! Not only does he look cool, he is has all of the other boxes checked as well… he is Mr. Personality, as friendly as they come, loves attention and is very calm natured. Smokey is out of the same breeding program as several other top draftcross geldings that we have had over the last 4 years and every one of them has the right mind with the calm nature that makes them great family horses. Smokey has been in our program since last year and has completed the natural horsemanship training and does liberty work and he also knows some tricks, he will bow, lay down and set on his rump. Smokey is great on trails and he will cross creeks, ditches, logs and navigate rough rocky areas. He has a smooth jog, a VERY VERY nice easy to set lope, a good stop, turns a circle both ways and backs with ease! He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer or turkey or other animals like cows or dogs and will go anywhere that he is asked too. He has been rode many miles in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed. Il a 9 ans et arbore cette superbe robe gris pommelé avec une crinière et une queue argentées ! C’est un cheval à l’allure impressionnante ! Non seulement il a un look cool, mais il coche aussi toutes les autres cases… c’est un vrai personnage, aussi amical que possible, qui adore l’attention et possède une nature très calme. Smokey provient du même programme de reproduction que plusieurs autres hongres croisés de trait de premier choix que nous avons eus au cours des 4 dernières années, et chacun d’eux possède l’esprit juste et la nature calme qui en font d’excellents chevaux de famille. Smokey fait partie de notre programme depuis l’année dernière, où il a suivi une formation en horsemanship naturel, pratique la liberté et connaît quelques tricks : il peut s’agenouiller, se coucher et s’asseoir sur ses hanches. Il est excellent en randonnée, capable de traverser des ruisseaux, des fossés, des troncs d’arbres et de naviguer dans des terrains accidentés et rocheux. Il a un trot fluide, un lope très agréable et facile à régler, un arrêt efficace, tourne en cercle dans les deux sens et recule aisément ! Il a été exposé à toutes sortes de faune, comme des cerfs, des dindes ou d’autres animaux comme des vaches ou des chiens, et il ira partout où on lui demande d’aller. Il a parcouru de nombreux kilomètres dans les montagnes de l’est du Kentucky, rencontrant tous les obstacles possibles en randonnée. Il monte ou descend même les pentes les plus raides, traverse des ruisseaux profonds, franchit des arbres tombés et traverse tous types de terrains accidentés tout en restant sûr de ses pas. Smokey n’est pas cinchy, ni froid au dos, il ne crib, ni ne tisse. En plus de la randonnée, Smokey a aussi été conduit sur les routes.
