I got Spartan as a 3 year old from the Amish where he did cart pulling. Spartan is a big, beautiful, personable gelding who has been in professional training for the past 6 months and is currently actively teaching lessons. He’s versatile and could be a great fit for lower-level dressage, western dressage, trail riding, fox hunting, husband horse or potentially some lower-level eventing. He is very sweet, playful, goofy and extremely personable. Loves kids. He does have a confident personality and will occasionally test boundaries to see what he can get away with, but he responds well to correction and does best with a rider/handler who is consistent and sets clear expectations. Spartan has great ground manners, cross ties, hard ties, stands well for the farrier, loves baths, and really thrives with a set routine. Under saddle, he has a decent motor and is more forward than many Friesians, without being a horse that constantly needs to be pushed along. He has been exposed to a lot over his life, including different barns, trails, roads, rodeos, and various environments; he was even my wedding horse. He’s generally a very confident, fun horse who enjoys having a job and being around his people. He currently lives outside 24/7 with other horses and goes fine barefoot. He can be a little bossy in the herd, primarily around feeding time, but otherwise does well in a group setting. I think he would make a really fun all-around horse for someone wanting a Friesian with personality, versatility, and plenty of presence.
