Brooks is an 11-year-old PtHA registered gelding standing 14.2 hands. He is a gorgeous buckskin pinto with a long mane and tail and about as much eye appeal as you could ask for. More importantly, Brooks is easy to have around, nicely broke, and safe enough for just about anyone to enjoy.
Brooks is handy broke and has a good feel to him. He neck reins, rides around correctly, and has enough handle to be fun for an experienced rider without being too much horse for someone who just wants to relax and enjoy their ride. He has been ridden both English and western and has also spent time in a lesson program. He is forgiving, dependable, and has been ridden by all levels of riders.
He is sired by QTsGold Mastercard, a World Champion stallion who earned money in both NRHA reining and Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Mastercard went on to sire World, Reserve World, Bronze World and National Champions, with offspring successful in everything from reining and cutting to ranch events and the PtHA and APHA show pens. Brooks certainly carries on the versatility that pedigree is known for.
On the trail, Brooks is about as solid as you could want one. He trail rides like a champ and is happy to head out and go wherever you point him. He is sensible, confident, and doesn’t need to be micromanaged every step of the way. He is the sort you can actually relax on and enjoy the scenery.
At 14.2 hands, Brooks is a great size for the whole family. He is big enough to comfortably carry an adult but not so tall that he becomes intimidating for a smaller or younger rider. Between his size, training, lesson experience and disposition, he would fit easily into a family home, lesson program, or with someone wanting one nice gelding they can use for a little bit of everything.
Brooks is genuinely an all-around horse. Ride him western, ride him English, put him in a lesson, or load up and spend the day on the trails. He’s broke, he’s safe, he’s useful, and it certainly doesn’t hurt that he’s awfully pretty to look at too.
