From hunting, packing, and camping in the mountains of Utah to working cattle on ranches in Nevada, he’s proven himself steady, sure-footed, and dependable. He’s crossed rivers, bridges, and tunnels without hesitation, stood tied for hours, worn hobbles, and ponied other horses, including colts. Slickers, traffic, and even gun shots are not a problem for him. He’s worked brandings, sorted and moved cows, roped, and opened gates — all with a good mind and willing attitude.

On the trail, he’ll ride out alone or in a group, handle steep rocky country with confidence, and stay calm around dogs, livestock, and new situations. In the arena or on the trail, he’s responsive and smooth, with a beautiful rocky mountain gait, an easy lope, and plenty of buttons. He rides great in a halter and lead rope, as well as neck reins, loads and unloads like a pro, stands quietly for the farrier, and loves a bath. You can ride Payday double, bareback, English or Western. He willingly moves off leg pressure, has a soft mouth, backs, and stops.
