Standing 12 hands and just 6 years old, he is the perfect size for children with the mind, ability, and experience of a much bigger horse. Exceptionally kind, quiet, willing, and dependable, UNO possesses the rare combination of talent, experience, and temperament that makes a truly special pony.
UNO has been extensively used on the ranch and has the kind of experience that cannot be taught overnight. He has worked cattle, dragged calves, sorted, and pushed pairs. He has been hauled extensively to town, trail rides, roping's, and rodeos. UNO has also been started in the breakaway and is proving himself to be a willing and capable youth rope horse. He is completely comfortable with swinging ropes, loudspeakers, flags, tarps, dogs, traffic, crowds, sidewalks, and the commotion of busy events. No matter the setting, UNO remains quiet, confident, and ready to do his job.
His ability on the trail is equally impressive. UNO willingly crosses water and confidently navigates steep creek banks, rough country, and challenging terrain while taking care of his rider. He is comfortable riding alone or in a group, leading or following, and travels quietly on a loose rein. In the arena, he is soft and willing with a smooth walk, trot, and lope, catches both leads, has a great stop, side passes, and opens and closes gates.
What truly separates UNO from the average pony is his exceptional mind. He is calm, patient, confident, and remarkably easygoing. He has no buck, bite, kick, or freshness—even after sitting for extended periods. Our 8- and 10-year-old boys can catch him anywhere, and UNO is often waiting at the gate to meet you. He genuinely enjoys people and attention and has excellent ground manners, making him a pleasure for the entire family to handle and enjoy.
UNO is uncomplicated and easy to have around. He leads, loads, stands quietly tied, bathes, and saddles and bridles with ease. He hauls well, settles into new surroundings without issue, and eats and drinks on the road. He requires no special maintenance, is 100% sound, and stays barefoot.
