Het was de bedoeling om Volbeat’s moeder (v. Escolar) te laten deelnemen aan de IBOP, echter door omstandigheden was ze al in gevorderde dracht toen ze in africhting ging en mede gezien haar maat (1.74m) miste ze de benodigde bespiering. Daarom hebben we besloten om haar eerst thuis haar veulen te laten krijgen, voordat we verder gaan met de training. Volgens Jose van Haaren, bij wie ze in training stond, is dit een zeer getalenteerde merrie.
