Timber is a 13 year old grade bay Quarter Horse gelding standing 15 hands tall. He’s a handsome, been there, done that ranch and trail horse with a kind, gentle disposition that makes him suitable for most levels of riders. Most recently, he has been ridden through the Rocky Mountains by a 65 year old lady, proving just how trustworthy and enjoyable he is to ride.
Timber has a great handle with all the right buttons. He neck reins one handed, moves off your legs, side passes with ease, and confidently goes wherever you point him. He has a long, ground covering walk that will keep up with the walking horses, a smooth trot, and an easy, rocking chair lope that’s comfortable enough to ride all day.
On the trail, Timber is dependable and confident. He crosses water, deadfall, bridges, and other obstacles without hesitation. Lead him to a mounting block, stump, or bank, give him a smooch, and he’ll side pass over so you can climb on with ease. He isn’t easily bothered by new sights, doesn’t buck, and doesn’t pull back.
Timber has spent plenty of time on the ranch roping, sorting, and doctoring cattle. He’s a handy, broke gelding that’s ready to put in a full day’s work, yet gentle enough to enjoy on the trails afterward. He loads easily, hauls quietly, backs out of the trailer like a gentleman, and gets along well with other horses.
